Married Life will always have its Blessings and Happiness But, I could just imagine the challenges, the struggles that you married couples experience in your life and I know you know all too well about them. Before a mass one early morning , the ladies serving the mass were sharing about their husbands and marriage and as I was listening from the back I clearly heard one asking. How did you put up with? How did you manage? with a tone that I could just imagine how they struggled a lot. There will always be challenges thats why sometimes some would just use humor to talk about their experiences so that at least they can just laugh it off. And so jokes are shared about marriage. Like someone said: when a person is in deep trouble, notice how you will see his family and reletives around him or her. Proof: Look at your wedding pictures. another..if a person is married to several spouses it is called polygamy. when married to one it is called "Monotony." Monogamy. We can just laugh about the experiences of married couples But let us be reminded. The Lord"s command is one and the same and unchanged. That Marriage is sacred, and Indissoluble. For " What God has bound together, no man can separate." Let us therefore pray for all married couples that will remain strong in their love for each other, sincere and faithful in their promise till the end, Amen.

The Death of John the Baptist

As I was reflecting on the theme of the celebration today, on the Passion of John the Baptist It came to me clearly That the Life and mission and even the death of John the Baptist was all about his love for the Family. Remember how he was a gift to his parents who were advance in age and were asking from God for a child. and even his name John means "God is gracious." Even his mission to prepare the way of the Lord..but Jesus was a family to him for Mary and Elizabeth his mother were cousins. and in the gospel he was beheaded because he stood up and fought agains the abuse of marriage of Herod and the dangers it caused his family. John, trully cared for the Family And it is just fitting that we ask his intercession for the intentions of our Family. That our families will always experience peace, unity and happiness and that they will always be safe. Praying for our family, we include our love ones who have gone before us. Our parents. And I sincerely pray today for my mom Justina on her First year death anniversary and for my dad Agripino. And we pray for our intententions, we are left behind. We can always say that our love ones may have fulfilled their mission here on earth and that they were ready to go but it is you and me who are left behind not ready to let them go. we also pray that we will remain strong and focus as we continue our lives here on earth All these we ask through the intercession of St John the Baptist. Through Christ our Lord. Amen

Loose some, gain more

A young man came to jesus to ask" What must I do to gain Eternal Life." Jesus told him Go and sell your possessions and give to the poor." And the man left very sad because he could not do it. There was an old priest who use to say, to become a priest, a nun or a follower of Jesus is to loose a lot of things and friends, but will gain millions more of friends and Things." If only the young man knew about it and realize that he could gain more by giving up, he could have easily gave away his possessions and followed Jesus.

Importance of The Holy Eucharist

The "Bread of Life Discourse" : Jesus proclaiming "I am the Bread of Life and those who will receive me will live forever." is the common theme of all the masses these past sundays. for you and me it reminds us of the EUCHARIST that we participate in every day or sunday, where we receive the Word of Jesus, His Spirit and His Love. 4 sundays actually just on the Discourse of the Bread of Life. My Parish Priest jokingly told me that when this happen every year, priests also take off for their vacation because he said they run out of ideas for their homilies. I guess thats the reason I am preaching today because our parish priest went for his vacation too. Holy Mother the Church just would like to remind us How important Jesus is and How important the celebration of the Holy Eucharist is for us and so we have the special liturgy and themes for four sundays. It is important That the Church proclaims the Eucharist is the source and summit of our Christian Life. So Important that even St Theresa of calcutta proclaimed: "If the Eucharist is taken for granted, Something breaks up." When we were kids, when mom would invite us to go mass and sometimes it is just good to continue playing and we say, we will just pray the rosary later, She would tell us even 50 rosaries would not equal one celebration oof the mass." There is so much we receive when we gather together as a family to celebrate the eucharist. The internet even would list thousands of Blessings and graces we can receive but allow me to share just three effects, and blessings we can receive (From Men of Light reflection) First, we become a Grateful prople. When we come to mass even with all our struggles and problems in life, we actually give thanks. We know our difficulties and crosses and yet we realize that we can still count on our Blessings. That there is so much to be thankful in life and we are grateful and we give thanks. Eucharist literally means Thanksgiving. Second, We become an Understanding and Accepting People. There are so many things that we do not know and understand in life. We say sometimes "I don't understand my husband, my wife, my kids, my parents." Many thing we do not understand about the mass and I cannot even promise as I stand before you to help you understand. And yet we come to church. We accept that it could help us and so we are here even if we don't understand. Then we begin to see. It is only after we taste or experience to be here that we can see the goodness of the Lord. The jews were rumbling, murmuring for they could not understandand what the Lord said to them, so they went away and rejected the Lord. If only they stayed and accepted and it would help them understand. You don't understand your love ones...Accept them, do not go away..and you will understand in the end. Quarrels and resentment can be avoided if only we learn to accept and understand. Lastly, The Mass can help us find meaning. In Life we realize that there are many things, experience, situations that doesn't make sense. Come to mass and experience Christ and pray and believe and in time it could help us find meaning. Christ came and gave meaning to Life in general otherwise our whole existence would be pointless and meaningless. That's How important the Eucharist is for you and me. It can make us grateful, Accepting and understanding people and can help us find meaning in Life. May we all grow in our Love and devotion for the Eucharist and realize its importance. Amen

The Assumption

Is an article of Faith, solemly Defined and proclaimed by Pope Pius XII in 1950. This article of faith declares that The Blessed Virgin Mary after Her life on earth, after fulfilling the mission entrusted to Her by the Father, being the mother of Jesus our Savior, when She died, She was taken body and soul to Heaven. The 1950's was a time when the world just witnessed the horrible World Wars and were experiencing its effects, its devastation and the uncertainty of many of how to start all over again, how to stand up again. Mary in those times became the symbol of hope, the assurance that suffering and pains and crosses of life are not forever that with Mary and like Mary offering hope there will be an end to all troubles and a promise of a better tomorrow. For you and me my dear brothers and sisters specially for those suffering in life, for those in trouble, do not loose hope, hold on, for there can be better times. Life, indeed can be difficult at times with the sorrows and pains but let us not forget like Mary we can be Blessed also just as she is Blessed. There is one thing we can learn and imitate from Mary. Her blessedness, the favors and gifts She received She never kept to Herself but went out to visit and serve her cousin Elizabeth. yes life is full of crosses but never forget to count ones blessings, and to give praise and thank as Mary did: "My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord." and whatever gifts we have received may we learn to also give as a gift. Like Mary may we always learn to be Grateful, Hopeful and Helpful. Amen

Learn from the Wise Men

The Three Wisemen travelled long and far searching for Jesus following the star and when they saw the child, they paid Him homage and gave Him their Gifts of Gold,Frankincense, and Myrr. I always wondered, why do the three have to travel together? They could have travelled individually but why the three together? It came to me that it was because they needed each other, that together hey could travel easier and their journey be light. As we start the new year, it would be a long year before us, yes with all its oppurtunities and chances but also with its uncertainties and struggles. Like the Three Wisemen stay close with your love ones, travel with them together, travel with Jesus. With others our journey can become light, meaningful and successful. Buon Viaggio.
This is a site of "Leaps of Faith" experiences and reflections. Be it Philosophical, Theological, Practical or Personal. It is also a site of Biblical reflections. But Above all, This is a site for YOU and ME.

"Leaps of Faith"

"LEAPS OF FAITH" Can be a religious movement of a person, an inner movement of belief, of trust on the greatest power of all, The Supreme being..Our Creator and Maker..Our God. They can be resolutions of a person everyday in his life to move forward, to be a better person, and to start a new life. They can be decisions of a person in times of great uncertainties, when he is not sure of what will come or happen and he makes a leap of faith. They can be steps, difficult steps that a person makes on his way to change or to start anew. Or they can simply be a persons resolve to fly, to widen his horizons, to learn more about life and to grow. These are Leaps of faith we make everyday and in great moments of our lives and they are worth considering and reflecting.
